Micro Flower Farm
The flowers available through my CSA are cultivated year-round in the basement of my solar-powered home using hydroponics. Spring through fall I extend my growing space to the backyard of my home in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. I use the ancient no-till farming method, which minimizes soil erosion, enhances water retention, fosters biodiversity, and improves overall soil health. In a commitment to sustainability, I use benafitial insects instead of pesticides to manage pests and only harvest half of my flowers, leaving the other half to nourish pollinators and provide beauty for my family and neighbors to enjoy.
